The fairways of the Tuscany Falls East Course were alive with energy and camaraderie on April 16, as over 140 golfers gathered for the highly anticipated PebbleCreek Men’s and Women’s Nine-Hole Mixer. Under clear desert skies, the event brought together a massive field of players for a day defined by friendly competition and community bonding.
This year, the PebbleCreek Men’s Nine-Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) took the reins as hosts, welcoming a diverse roster of participants. The tournament featured a heartwarming mix of men and women playing side-by-side and competing against friends over a shared love of the game.
The atmosphere on the course was electric, balancing the focus of a tournament with the lighthearted spirit of a social outing.
Following the final putts on their ninth green, the festivities transitioned to the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse for a celebratory awards luncheon. As golfers refueled and traded stories of “the one that got away,” the leadership recognized standout performances across four competitive flights.
In a nod to the prestigious Masters Tournament occurring concurrently in Georgia, golfers were encouraged to showcase their best fairway fashion too. One couple stole the show for their coordinated Masters-inspired attire that brought a touch of Augusta to PebbleCreek.
First place finishers for each specific golf flights:
Butler Flight: Kevin Coogan, Linda Coogan, Gregory Ray, Jackie Cameron
Magnolia Flight: John Howell, Dale Everson, Kayleen Herema, Bill Schroeder
Amen Corner Flight: Lennie Liebowitz, Sharon Degroff, Cindy Hurst, Mike Hurst
Green Jacket Flight: Gail Everard, Bill Everard, Holly Pinheiro, Lisa Pinheiro (Holly and Lisa were also recognized as “Best Representing the Master’s Theme” for the tournament)
The success of this year’s mixer further cements the event as a cornerstone of the PebbleCreek social calendar. As the Men’s Club hands off the hosting duties, anticipation is already building for next year’s event.
Photos for many of the participants were taken throughout the day and have been posted to the Men’s Nine Hole website for all to review the fun (see photos on PCM9GA.org under the MENU tab then click PICTURES).
John Craven, Niner’s president, said “It was a beautiful day of golf and friendship, we’re looking forward to seeing what the women’s group has in store for us when they host the event next year.”
With the tradition in good hands, the PebbleCreek community continues to prove that whether you’re playing for the trophy or the “best golf theme” title, the real win is the time spent together on the green. Congratulations to all that participated. See you at next year’s event!
