What is Kumihimo? It is an ancient form of Japanese braiding that was used for dressing the Samurai and is still used today for the Japanese kimono. With Western influence it has expanded to include beautiful cords used for jewelry, interior décor and other complimentary fabric crafts.
The class is taught by Carol Meier, a PebbleCreek resident who studies the art of Kumihimo in both Hawaii and Japan. Carol teaches the traditional art form which is done on the Marudai versus the hand-held foam disc. She looks forward to continuing with her fifth year of instruction on this fun and creative craft in the PebbleCreek community.
