Three shooters vied for first place with scores of 45 out of 50 in the PebbleCreek Gun Club’s annual trap shooting competition held March 8. The longest string of hit targets in the first round placed Jim Pollock in the top spot. Joanne Pollock and Dan Borchers had the same number of consecutive hits in round one. Comparing uninterrupted hits in round two positioned Joanne in second place and Dan in third. Greg Ray was in fourth place with his score of 44, and Jack Urban took fifth place with a 42.

Close scores continued through the rest of the field. Ed Cleary and Dave Robertson 41; Ted Blaine, John Nunn, and Bill Wagner 39; Mitch Counce, Vicki Ray, and Jim Belina 38; Kirk Harrison 37; Louie Wilbur 35; Randy Cheek and Dave Cousminer 34; John Shaner and Pete Bahnmueller 31; Bob Adkins 29; Jerry Younker and Bob Stacklie 26; and Barbara Younker 20.

The skeet contest and timed bowling pin pistol competition round out the season for members. The club takes a break from organized shooting during the summer.

Shooters of all levels are welcome to join the gun club for trap/skeet shooting on Tuesdays and pistol/rifle shooting on Fridays at the Joe Foss public shooting range in Buckeye. Contact Jerry Younker, club president, at [email protected] for more information.
