Two proficient pool players in the PebbleCreek Billiard Club have won back-to-back Grand Championship honors with the club’s recently concluded 8-week Series VIII and Series X 9-Ball and 8-Ball Tournaments.
Clay Beeson captured his first Grand Championship 9-Ball title back in the late fall season. At the same time, Harold Erker came out on top of the 8-Ball Grand Championship title.
In the early winter season just concluded, Clay earned his second consecutive 9-Ball Grand Championship title by racking up 46 game wins and 55 total points. (One point is awarded for each game won, plus 3-point bonus for each weekly mini-tournament victory.)
Second- and third-place 9-ball winners were Marv Schrock (40 wins, 49 points) and Jim Padgitt (37 wins, 40 points), respectively. Additional players included Joe Armbruster, Mike Finnegan, Bill Wise, Chuck Johnson, and Butch Schoen.
Also in the latest early winter season, Harold Erker achieved his second consecutive 8-Ball Grand Championship title by winning 50 games and 56 points.
Second and third-place 8-ball finishers were Jim Sykes (48 wins, 54 points) and Clay Beeson (43 wins, 46 points), respectively. Other tourney competitors included Marv Schrock, Gary Weaver, Chuck Johnson, Mike Finnegan, Jim Sykes, Jim Padgitt, Joe Armbruster, and Butch Schoen.
8-Ball tournament play takes place in the PC Billiard Room Mondays at 2 p.m. 9-Ball tournaments are played Thursdays at 9 a.m. To join the PC Billiard Club, pick up membership information at the Billiard Room on the west side of the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse, just down the hallway from the Renaissance Theater entrance.
