Chuck Johnson Wins 9-Ball Title; Scotch Doubles League Launches

Winter 9-Ball Tournament

After a tightly contested battle for bragging rights in the PebbleCreek Billiard Club’s Winter 9- Ball Tournament, Chuck Johnson emerged with the Grand Champion title. Chuck prevailed by amassing 59 game wins over the 8-week mini-tourney series for a final total of 62 points (one point per game win, plus 3-point bonus for a weekly mini-tourney victory).

Runner-up was Jim Padgitt with 59 points (53 games/6 bonus points). Joe Armbruster earned third-place honors with 55 points (49 games won, 6 bonus points).

Other 9-Ball players included Mike Finnegan, Marv Schrock, and Bill Wise.

Scotch Doubles League

The Billiard Club has initiated a new Scotch Doubles League. The game is 8-Ball with teams of two players alternating shooting opportunities at the table.

Grand Champions of the initial 8-week Scotch Doubles series were partners Bruce White/Joe Armbruster who finished the Winter series with 43 game wins. Second-place went to Blair Dreyfus/Clay Beeson (40 wins) with third-place honors captured by the Ken Copps/Chuck Johnson duo (36 wins)

Additional Scotch Doubles teams are Rene Lefebvre/Harold Erker, Johnny Henson/Mike Finnegan, and Lynn Warren/Jim Padgitt.
