Betsy Crosson

The Chic-Lits Book Club, a newly formed reading group, celebrated its one year anniversary last month by hosting local Phoenix author J.D. Scott at the home of Betsy Crosson. Ms. Scott’s premier novel, The Disillusionment of Anahera Daniels, is a young adult novel about time travel set in Prescott and another world called Posternis. The club not only feasted on a wonderful potluck lunch, but learned how Ms. Scott became a writer and got her first book published. Her sequel, The Emergence of Anahera Daniels, just came out this month and members were excited to obtain signed copies for themselves and their grandchildren!

The Chic-Lits are a diverse group of 12 PebbleCreek ladies who share a common love for reading. Members take turns hosting monthly meetings to discuss current and classic books. The holiday season was celebrated with a luncheon at the Royal Palms Resort in Phoenix and many members are attending the Orphan Train lecture hosted by LifeLong Learning on January 23, 2015, at the Renaissance Theatre. The Orphan Train, by Christina Baker Kline, was one of the club’s favorite reads this past year!
