Charity Golf to support American Heart Association

Suzanne Butler

The PebbleCreek Lady Niners’ annual Charity Golf Event was held on January 13 and this year was in support of the American Heart Association. In keeping with the Go Red for Women theme, golfers donned red attire for the event. Co-Chairs, Patty Greene and Kathy Doerwald and their committees did a stellar job in organizing and promoting the event. As a result, the PCL9GA donated over $2,700 to the American Heart Association through member contributions in support of or in memory of friends and family members affected by heart disease and stroke. Heart healthy desserts were enjoyed after golf and prizes awarded to the team winners.

Other winners were the following:

Palms 2nd Place: Cherri Baxter, Dede Harrington and Kris Robinson

Palms 3rd Place: Tricia Self, June Miller, Suzanne Butler and KiLynn Gold (MHS Student)

Falls 2nd Place: Lynn Havens, Vicki Wolfe, Barbara Hockert and Pat Hallacy

Falls 3rd Place: Patty Greene, Diana Berty, Diana Martell and Victoria Turrell (MHS Golf Coach)

Members of the Millennium High School Girls Golf Team and their Coach Vicki Turrell were guests at the event. The MHS girls joined in the PCL9GA foursomes making for an extra special afternoon of play. The PCL9GA presented a check for $750 to the MHS Girls Golf program to help further the involvement of young women in golf.

Par-Tee Event

The Lady Niners and spouses/friends teamed up for a Montana Big Sky Adventure and a great afternoon of golf at the winter Par-Tee Event on January 25. Players were encouraged to dress for a Big Sky Adventure which was no coincidence since the event Co-Chairs Jeannie Sherlock, Lynn Havens and Betty Thompson are all from Montana! Many players took the challenge sporting western wear, fishing gear and native Indian accessories. There were even a couple of Montana Moose spotted in the group! Table members voted for the best costume at their table; a hard decision at best!

Players enjoyed a great western BBQ after golf followed by winner presentations.

We invite lady golfers in PebbleCreek who would like to be a part of this fun group and their many great events to please contact club President Karen Morgan at 623-536-1781 or 209-609-5616 or visit the club website at www.PCL9GA.org for membership information and prerequisites.
