On Saturday, November 15, 2014, the Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek sponsored a well attended charity golf tournament which raised funds for the City of Goodyear Police Department K-9 Unit. This was the sixth year that this event has been held and it was the most successful one so far. Funds were raised through donations, golf entry fees and sponsor activities on the golf course. Sponsors and residents enthusiastically supported this event which also included a live K-9 demonstration by the Goodyear Police Department’s four K-9 officers and their canine partners.

On December 4, 2014, Pet Companions Club President Jim Ellison presented a check in the amount of $8,750 to Goodyear K-9 Unit officer Sergeant Sean Clarke and his canine partner Duke. Funds raised during this fundraiser will be used by the Goodyear K-9 Unit for equipment, training expenses and veterinary bills.

We would like to thank all those who turned out to play golf, participate in activities or just to donate funds to support this worthwhile cause. Special recognition and thanks go out to our sponsors this year: Century 21 Northwest Realty-Logan Hall Homes, Clarke Location Services, Dermatology for Animals, Dillon Precision, Dixon Golf, Eagle’s Nest Golf Club, FX Tactical, Golf Club of Estrella, Martin and Gibbs Family Dentistry, Mary Couzens Realty, Precision Air and Heating, Southwest Preferred Properties, Southwest Specialty Foods, State Farm Insurance Agent Mat Herseth, Sundance Golf Club, Tailgaters, Tuscany Falls Golf Club, Verrado Golf Club, Walgreens, Wells Fargo, West Valley Golf Cars, Wigwam Resort and Lynn Ray (CaptnCrush).

In addition, the success of this event could not have happened without the support of the volunteers who manned the tables, checked in golfers, sold raffle tickets and assisted on the golf course. We would especially like to thank Chrissy Bridges, Jeanne Place and Ronnie Decker for coordinating the golf tournament.
