The PCLGA held its Tournament of Champions on March 14, 21 and 22, 2017 co-chaired by Sally Babbitt, Donnie Meyers, Barb Rossi and Karen Vagley. Congratulations to Andrea Dilger, the 2017 PCLGA Overall Low Gross Champion and Layne Sheridan, the 2017 PCLGA Overall Low Net Champion!

High Tea was the theme for this crowning event. The top overall PCLGA players and the low gross and low net winners of five flights were determined after accumulating the 83 participating players’ scores over three days of golf. The first day was played on Palms/Lakes, the second day on Falls/Palms and the last day on Eagle’s Nest. The competition was fierce but, as always, friendly. The weather cooperated beautifully.

On the last day of the tournament, a delicious dinner offering a choice of stuffed roasted portabella, grilled salmon, or medallion Wellington, potatoes, vegetables and dessert was served at Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. After dinner the PCLGA Annual Meeting was called to order by President Barbara Patrow. Awards were presented for Most Birdies, Most Improved Player, Most Attendance and the 2017 AWGA Medallion Winners. Following President Patrow’s heartfelt farewell message, the newly-elected 2017-2018 PCLGA Board Officers were installed. (See separate articles regarding these special awards and the new Board.)

After adjournment of the Annual Meeting, Golf Pros Jason Whitehill, Ronnie Decker and David Vader were present to pronounce Andrea Dilger as the 2017 PCLGA Overall Low Gross Champion and Layne Sheridan as the 2017 PCLGA Overall Low Net Champion. Trophies and flowers were presented to the champions and their names will be engraved on the historical trophies displayed in the glass case outside Eagle’s Nest Pro Shop. The low gross and low net winners in the five flights were announced by Golf Pro Ronnie Decker.
