Ceramics Club Profile: Lee Miller

Lee’s favorite piece, a stein that took months to complete

Ardell Roberts

The gregarious and outgoing Lee Miller is a 25-year resident of PebbleCreek. She says it used to be that she knew everyone in PebbleCreek. Over the years PC grew and she doesn’t quite know everybody anymore. Lee and her husband moved into the house they built on her 60th birthday. She is very busy and is a member of the Lady Niners, painting ceramics often, and exercises daily. She loves to spend time with her husband, and they are very involved in their church. In her younger days, Lee did high-impact aerobics for 35 years. She attempted pickleball at PebbleCreek, but her knees weren’t up to it.

Lee started going to ceramics 20+ years ago when the club met at Eagle’s Nest. Later, the club moved to the Creative Arts Center and our current teacher, Kelli Frederickson, brought a world of new techniques and talent to the club. Linda Galowitch joined Kelli, and both teachers are outstanding.

Lee’s first ceramic project was a Santa Claus teapot. She still brings it out every Christmas season. Lee has made a wide variety of pieces including pots, bowls, and a tree stump. Her favorite piece is a stein that took her months to complete.
