Twenty residents attended the Ceramics Club “Introduction to Ceramics” class on Feb. 17. Participants were provided with a mug to paint using their choice of crystal glazes to learn the application technique to achieve an interesting result. They also were provided with a greenware vase with which they learned basic cleaning principles for firing. Registration included appropriate cleaning tools and paintbrush. Then, the participants came back into the studio to select a paint to complete their vase. Each piece is unique and beautiful.
The introduction class is designed to expose individuals to ceramics in order to determine if they find the art interesting and worthy of further pursuit.
