Heather Woiwor

Ardell Roberts

Heather and Charles Woiwor moved to PebbleCreek about a year ago from Beaverton, Ore. Heather’s father and her stepmother have been snowbirds in PebbleCreek for many years, and Heather and Charles had enjoyed visiting. They eventually decided to sell their business and retire to PebbleCreek.

Heather has always been interested in pursuing a career helping other people. As a teenager she volunteered in a local hospital and received a degree in Intercultural Studies with a minor in Theology. Heather had many jobs helping others including two years as a Missionary in Kenya. She and Charles have been married for 34 years and raised three beautiful girls.

Heather attended an Introduction to Ceramics class at the Ceramics room in the Creative Arts Center. These introduction classes are offered throughout the year by the PebbleCreek Ceramics Club. Heather was interested in learning new things and meeting new people. She was immediately enamored with ceramics. She remembers making some ceramics pieces with her children when they were young and a few times in her vocation as a geriatric nurse with a few patients. Heather makes beautiful and professional-looking pieces and is learning many new techniques and producing marvelous works of art. She never had enough time until last year to pursue any art-related interests. Taking the class and participating in ceramics made the difference in the high-quality of the pieces she is now making.

Heather started working with Jungle Gems glaze, which uses crystals, added gold to some of her pieces, and used EZ Strokes for a watercolor look. She is currently working with Fashion Hues, a type of paint that results in bold colors and beautiful pieces. She looks forward to learning many other techniques as she continues to create ceramic pieces. Among her favorite pieces are a wine cooler with birch trees she made for her father and a pretty egg plate with flowers. Some of her work will be on display in the Ceramic window.

We all look forward to Heather attending ceramics and sharing her ready smile and positive, friendly attitude about life.
