“Tree Heron” by Gary Glascock …an impressive picture of a waterfowl in the Gilbert Riparian area; photo was taken with a Canon 60D, 600mm lens, ISO 800, F6.3, 1/1000 sec.

The photo of the month for October is a great capture of a waterfowl by club member Gary Glascock on an outing to the Gilbert Riparian area a few years ago. The image shows a Snowy Egret, a type of heron found in wetlands across the Americas. Gary did a great job with exposure and the egret’s head and eye are in sharp focus with most of the surrounding branches more softly focused, thus drawing the viewer’s eye to the egret.
