Lynn Warren
For the October Photo of the Month, the Camera Club selected an impressive photo taken by club member Larry Matney. This summer was brutally hot so maybe it is appropriate that Larry’s picture was of solar prominences on our local sun, only 93 million miles away. It was not exactly point-and-shoot since Larry utilized a special type of camera and telescope to take several thousand images from his backyard which were then processed by special software to produce the dramatic colorized image shown above. Larry is an accomplished photographer and has been involved with the PC Camera Club since it formed. He is also a member of the West Valley Astronomy Club and is active within the club’s astrophotography group where he prefers to create images of deep sky objects.
