The Camera Club PebbleCreek Woodcarvers Club offers presentations on a variety of interesting topics. October’s general meeting featured a presentation on natural light portraits, and the club conducted an outing to Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona to photograph the fall colors.
For the November general meeting, the topic will be plant photography, and the featured presenter will be Jimmy Fike, a nationally recognized photographer who has taught art at Wake Forest and Ohio Universities and is currently an art faculty member at Estrella Mountain College in Phoenix. Jimmy’s work is currently on display at Mesa Arts Center.
There will be two additional photographic events during November. The first will be held on Nov. 9, when the Arizona Camera Club Council holds its Fall Roundup in Sun City, an all-day event, with the theme of “Photography is a Journey.” Tickets will cost $25. Then, on Nov. 20, National Geographic Live will present “Building the Photo Ark” at Mesa Arts Center, featuring Joel Sartore, National Geographic photographer. Tickets will cost $30 to $44.
The November general meeting will be in the Tuscany Falls Capri Room on Nov. 21, at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact the club president at [email protected].
