Building Bridges

Everyone is welcome! What would it look like here in PebbleCreek and how can we make the phrase a reality?

To begin with, let’s ask a few questions. Is it important to feel valued and respected in our community?

Are we interested in feeling supported by friends, neighbors and others within our circle of contacts?

Do we feel we are able to be and do our best as homeowners, within PebbleCreek, living our retirement years?

Take a look at the list below, maybe there are a few basic things that would make everyone welcome.

1. Be a good neighbor, just wave and greet people when you encounter them walking, on your bike or golf cart.

2. Listen: be prepared to learn and/or be amazed by someone else’s experience.

3. Be willing to reflect and to challenge our own assumptions, biases and judgements.

4. Speak up when we hear language that is inappropriate or racist, even if it means risking our own comfort.

5. Address misunderstandings and attempt to resolve disagreements, with mindfulness.

6. Build trust: Do what you say you will do and honor confidentiality.

Think about ways you can make PebbleCreek a positive community that values diversity. A recent example, the PCLGA group created an Orange Ribbon campaign. “Respect FOR All” it’s a way to show support and commitment, becoming better neighbors.

During the month of February, there will be a repeat of the film series: Race the Power of an Illusion. This time the post film Q & A will be led by a panel of homeowners. We ask that everyone’s input be valued and expressed. Please respond to the flyer and advertisements that you’ll see in PebbleCreek.
