The Breast Cancer Support Group is pleased to have Jennifer K. O’Neill, M.D., F.A.C.S., speak on October 26 at 10:00 a.m. in the Capri Room at Tuscany. Dr. O’Neill is Board Certified by the American College of Surgeons. For the past seven years, her practice has specialized exclusively in benign and malignant diseases of the breast. She founded Arizona Breast Consultants with the specific intention of giving her patients a higher, more comprehensive understanding of their disease processes administered in a compassionate, caring manner.
Dr. O’Neill attended the University of Tennessee Medical School, graduating in 1987. After attending the University of Illinois, Peoria for her Surgical Internship, she completed her General Surgery residency training at Michigan State University in 1993. The next six years were spent in private practice in rural Virginia performing the entire gamut of general surgery. She later entered a Hepatobiliary Fellowship at the University of Virginia to expand her training.
Three months into this advanced training, her mother was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer after having had early stage disease many years before. This life-changing event led to Dr. O’Neill shifting her focus to treating breast diseases, and it has been her passion from that moment on. She finished the next nine months studying breast surgery exclusively and subsequently accepted a faculty position at Vanderbilt University prior to moving to Arizona.
Her practice was developed under the motto “that all patients will be treated the same as her own family members would be treated, giving only her very best to each and every patient.”
We encourage all those who are newly diagnosed, recovering from treatment or are long term survivors to attend this informative meeting. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions following Dr. O’Neill’s presentation.
Following the meeting, many of us go to lunch at Toscano’s. It is a great opportunity to get to know each other so hope you will attend that, too.
