Rayma Scalzo
Our next Breast Cancer Discussion Group meeting will be held on May 24 from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the Capri Room at the Tuscany Fall’s Clubhouse. Following the meeting, many of our members go to lunch to get to know each other better.
The purpose of our group is to provide support to residents through the sharing of common experiences and knowledge and to let you know you are not alone. If you are facing possible surgery, thinking about reconstruction or just need someone to talk to, please consider joining us. If you are a long-time survivor, we’d like to have you join us at our meetings too. Your experience and knowledge can help newly diagnosed members get through their treatment. You may also learn a few things along the way that you might find helpful. Please also know that everything said at our meetings is confidential.
One of the challenges our group faces is reaching residents before treatment. We have a wonderful pillow, provided by the PebbleCreek Quilters, which provides comfort while recovering from surgery. We also have access to great resources pertaining to breast cancer. It is so important that you get the right information as it is sometimes very misleading to look on the Internet. If you or anyone you know has surgery pending, please contact us.
For questions, a pillow or more information, please call me at 623-935-1819 or email me at [email protected].
