If something can go wrong, then it will. That is the fate facing the nine characters in the hilarious award-winning farce, Noises Off, being presented this month by the PC Players and the theater department at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC).
Noises Off follows the antics of a second rate theater troupe trying to put on a silly British sex farce. The audience watches the chaos surrounding the inept actors from their dress rehearsal before opening night to their final performance three months later. There are lines missed, doors slamming and plates of sardines flying as they deal with mediocre material on stage and the dysfunctional relationships behind the scenes.
In this show actors from both PebbleCreek and EMCC are working together for the first time. Students are gaining experience and class credit working on a full-scale production while PC Players is using the new EMCC Performing Arts Center for a show that could not be presented on the smaller Renaissance Theater stage. The show runs five nights from Tuesday, October 18 to Saturday, October 22 at the EMCC Theater which is located on the corner of Dysart and Thomas Roads, just three miles from PebbleCreek. https://www.estrellamountain.edu/locations/emcc.
Tickets for this rollicking comedy are only $15 and they are available online at the PC Players website www.pc-players.org. Credit cards (VISA and MasterCard only) are accepted. Tickets may also be purchased at the Eagle’s Nest kiosk on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Noises Off recently had its third revival on Broadway, earning six Tony nominations. Come see why audiences around the world love this farce when PC Players and the EMCC Theater Department present a night of hysterical laughter. Just watch out for flying sardines!
