The spring bocce leagues ended on May 21, along with the 2020-21 bocce year. Congratulations go out to all who played during this session of COVID-19, CDC/HOA procedures, and the ever-changing restrictions. A very big thank you goes to the bocce board and members because without them putting in place all that was needed to keep us safe, and setting up, sanitizing, and putting away all the equipment each bocce play day and night, there would have been no bocce at all. Now let’s look forward to a normal 2021-22 bocce year.
The spring leagues winners are: On Tuesday night, 1st place was Bocce Buds, 2nd place was PC Rollers, and 3rd place was a tie between the Sexy Guys & Dolls and the Night Rollers.
On Wednesday, 1st place was Holy Rollers, 2nd place was Bada Bing, and 3rd place was Club 21.
On Thursday night, 1st place was Vets, M&M, Chefs; 2nd and 3rd place was a tie between the PC Rollers and the Court Jester 2.
On Friday, 1st place was Perils of Palino, 2nd place was Avengers, and 3rd place was E Z Rollers.
Congratulations to all of them, and congratulations to all the teams that made the spring league a fantastic success. You all are winners. Come the 2021-22 sessions, we will play with brand new bocce balls. The old practice balls have been given out to bocce members who registered via email for a chance to win a set. The old “new balls” will now be our practice balls. The shed will be open to bocce members only for use. The lock combination number has been sent to all the team captains.
Lastly, the fall registration will begin on Aug. 1 and tentatively will end on Sept. 1, 2021. Remember to check QuickScores often for updates. All registrations must be done online at www.QuickScores.com/PebbleCreekBocce. There will be no kiosk dates to register for the 2021-22 sessions. If you want to join bocce for the first time, have questions about signing up, or need help with QuickScores, contact the president, Tom Bose, at 602-478-8747.
Now that we are almost back to normal, it’s still good to remember: wash your hands often, and if you’re feeling ill see a doctor and follow their orders.
