Well it looks like the heat is here to stay for a while but there are still some hardy bocce players that go in the evening and play some ball. That’s a good way to keep up your bocce skills and have some fun with friends. Just keep in mind that once the lights are turned on, they need to be turned off manually when the last people leave; they do not turn off automatically.
The 2018/2019 PebbleCreek Bocce Ball season ended on Friday, May 17, 2019, and the Grand Champions are the Friday Day Team, Rolling Thunder (see a photo under Bocce Updates in the Post).
Hopefully over the summer the coverings over the accessible entrance boards to the courts will be replaced. These removable boards are to accommodate residents that have limited mobility. It allows them to proceed directly onto the courts without having to go over any type of barrier. Now let’s hope the rabbits don’t eat the coverings before we start up again in the fall. Those cute bunnies must have some really nice carpeting in their bunny hutches!
The calendar for the 2019/2020 league sessions is available at the clubhouses, the PebbleCreek Post and online at the PC website.
NOTE: Current teams and/or players looking to start their own teams and all the newbies that would love to try their hand at playing bocce: now’s the time to make a decision. Tuesday and Thursday nights are filling up fast; Wednesday and Friday days would be a great way to start off your mornings. If interested call Angela Petter, Registrar, at 623-215-3146.
And before we say “stay cool,” Team Sizzler wishes everyone one a Happy 4th of July!
Wishing all of you the best of health and the safest of travels during the summer months. See you in the fall.
