Yes, it’s still hot but it’s also Arizona in July, and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Our community has been safely opening up since May and we are once again able to enjoy all of the reasons we live in this beautiful PebbleCreek (PC) Active Adult Resort. Our thanks to the HOA board of directors for doing it in a way that kept everyone healthy and safe. As far as the Bocce courts are concerned, there is no league play until the fall, but they are open for practicing and fun play to the Bocce members and PC residents. As of this writing, everyone that wants to play on the courts must follow the HOA guidelines, but things can change by the time you read this. There really are no new updates as to when you can register for the fall 2020-21 bocce ball session, how we will have to schedule play—either every other court, all courts, adding additional day, etc. Once things are decided, it will be put on Quickscores and, as always, keep up to date with the changes made to the HOA guidelines below.

PebbleCreek HOA COVID-19 Reopening Plan Protocols as of May 2020 for PC Bocce Courts until further notice:

1. Four courts (every other court) will be available for bocce play or practice for residents only.

2. Courts are limited to five players per side (total of 10).

3. All players must stay on their own court.

4. No lingering on or outside of the courts before playing.

5. All club sponsored activities of any type have been canceled until September.

6. Players must provide their own equipment and the club recommends the use of masks and gloves.

7. Players should adhere to CDC and social distance guidelines. Try to maintain at least six feet between partners and opponents at all times.

8. There should be no handshakes or physical contact between players.

9. Players should place their personal items (backpacks, water bottles, etc.) at a safe distance from other players’ items to avoid player congregation and surface contact.

10. Restrooms will be open but the sports building will remain closed.

11. And if you really want to make sure things are well-sanitized, bring a spray bottle with a disinfectant and water solutions, and a cloth to wipe the bocce balls and all other items you use.

Hopefully, now we can look forward to a calmer summer and to the new 2020-21 PC bocce season starting in the fall. Over the summer, the Bocce Board will be thinking of events, fundraisers, and tournaments to incorporate into the 2020-21 Bocce League sessions.
