With the Bocce Club’s fall season soon to be underway through Nov. 11, and the winter league starting immediately after on Nov. 15, it’s time to register for the upcoming winter season. Registration starts Oct. 1. The Bocce Club is doing something a little different this year: we’re asking all individual/couples and teams with five players or less, to register first—from Oct. 1 through 7, with returning teams at full membership to register starting Oct. 8. This way we have a pool of available candidates to add to existing teams as needed and/or create new teams without a last-minute rush to make sure everyone is on a team. If you are a brand-new member, annual dues are $10, which covers registration for both the winter and spring 2022-23 leagues. If you registered for fall 2022, no further fees are due for the 2022-23 season.
The winter league starts Nov. 15 through March 10, with breaks at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Bocce Club welcomes all new residents, individuals, and snowbirds, and will guarantee you a spot on a team if you don’t have one. And if you can put a new team together, all the better as the more teams we have, the more play we can have. We have 57 teams playing this fall—let’s see if we can’t beat that number with our winter league!
Bocce is fun, a good excuse for exercise, and playing outdoors during our winter season is perfect. And don’t forget: the Bocce Club is offering Friday nights skill training and social play, and Monday morning drop-in play throughout the month of October. These are good events for you to meet people and to see if the game is for you. It really doesn’t take much skill; bocce just takes practice, a willing attitude, and a desire to get some exercise in a social setting.
