The Bears are now in hibernation for the summer, a rest well-deserved after they attacked all of their opponents to emerge as winner of the 2016 Spring Day League Championship. On the night side, the Knights charged ahead undaunted, slaying the competition to take home the Spring Night League Title.

The final standings for the PebbleCreek Bocce Association’s Spring Leagues are as follows:

Grand Champions

Night League Bocce Knights; Day League Bocce Bears

Tuesday Evening League

1st Place Bocce Knights; 2nd Place Bocce Buds; 3rd Place Hare and Hounds

Wednesday Day League

1st Place Thunderbirds; 2nd Place Bada Bing; 3rd Place Free Agents

Thursday Evening League

1st Place U-Nighted 40; 2nd Place Pickleball Anyone?; 3rd Place Boccelisms

Friday Day League

1st Place Bocce Bears; 2nd Place Hare and Hounds; 3rd Place Dust Devils

Meanwhile, one member of the Bocce Association Board of Directors who definitely is not in hibernation over the summer is Treasurer Mollie McErlean who handles all of the scheduling for both the Day and Night Bocce Leagues. She is reminding all bocce enthusiasts who want to play day, night or both in the 2016 Fall Season to get their registrations to her as soon as possible.

There are limits to the number of teams that can be scheduled in the night leagues each season. Due to the increased popularity of bocce in PebbleCreek, (there were 626 players in the Winter Season) registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

If registrations come in early enough and the numbers warrant it, the Board of Directors will add a third night to allow more residents to enjoy playing one of PebbleCreek’s most popular sports. For further registration information contact Mollie at 623-935-2822 or [email protected].

Registration fee is $20 per league per year. The $20 covers the fall, winter and spring seasons.
