No sooner had the PebbleCreek Bocce Association recognized its top fall teams and started its winter season with a record number of players when the dates for Spring registration and the tentative formation of a Spring Night League already were being announced.

Spring registration: Residents of PebbleCreek who would like to join a Bocce team or create a new team for the spring season (March 25 to May 13) can obtain registration forms at Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse or by contacting Treasurer Mollie McErlean at 623-935-2822 or [email protected]. Spring registration is now open by mail. Registration forms with check(s) must be returned no later than Saturday, February 28 or in person at the Eagle’s Next kiosk on Monday, March 2 and Tuesday, March 3 from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Winter season: The Bocce Ball Association’s winter season began on Wednesday, January 7 and will run through March 13. There are 473 players competing on 24 teams in the Wednesday League and 24 teams in the Friday League. All teams play on the eight new state of the art courts at Eagle’s Nest where work continues to complete the installation of new benches, sidewalks and permanent UV protective canopies.

General Membership Meeting: First, second and third place teams in both the Wednesday and Friday Leagues, as well as the fall season’s overall Grand Championship team, were recognized at the annual General Membership Meeting and Potluck, which was held on Sunday, January 4, 2015, in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. A total of 326 attendees congratulated the following winners: Wednesday League – United 40, first; Bata Bings, second; Free Agents, third. Friday League – Hare and Hounds, first; Bocce Bandits, second; Bocce Bowlers, third. United 40 defeated the Hare and Hounds to become the Fall Season Grand Champion.

Also applauded were Vice President William Moser and his committee for soliciting prizes for the annual raffle.

Spring Night League: Look for details in a separate article appearing in this month’s PebbleCreek Post.
