The PebbleCreek Bocce Association kicks off the new year with a look back at the exciting fall 2016 competition and a look ahead to the start of the winter 2017 season play on Tuesday, January 10 and a highly anticipated Ladies Tournament to benefit charity on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
All four fall season leagues managed to complete their schedules just in time for the January 2017 PebbleCreek Post deadline. Statistician Carol Gwilt reports the following results:
Tuesday Night League: Bocce Knights 1st place; Bocce Buds 2nd place; Hare and Hounds 3rd place
Wednesday Day League: Thunderbirds 1st place; Bada Bing 2nd place; U-Nighted 40 3rd place
Thursday Night League: Pickleball Anyone? 1st place; Botched Balls 2nd place; U-Nighted 40 3rd place
Friday Day League: Rolling Thunder, 1st place; Hare and Hounds, 2nd place; Pallino Posse, 3rd place.
Unfortunately, playoffs for the Day and Night Leagues’ Grand Championships were not finalized by press time. Winners will be announced at the annual Membership Meeting and Potluck Supper on Sunday, January 8, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom and publicized in the February 2017 edition of the PebbleCreek Post.
Vice President Bob Labenz, who is chairing this year’s Annual Meeting and Potluck, invited all members of the fall and winter season teams to come out and congratulate the fall season winners. Participants also will have the opportunity to win some outstanding prizes that have been donated for the raffle. There also will be a 50/25/25 drawing.
Important Reminders: The first 2017 meeting of the team captains and co-captains will be held on Friday, January 6 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the Chianti Room at the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. Day and Night League play for the winter 2017 season will begin on Tuesday, January 10. Team members competing in the Wednesday and Friday Day Leagues are reminded that the start time for the first tier is 9:30 a.m. The second tier will begin at 11:30 a.m.
