Billiards Club President’s Message

Blair Dreyfus

This is getting to be a real pain in the … just kidding! As club president I do enjoy getting the opportunity to write these monthly president’s messages. So, since I have that opportunity I think I’ll take it. But not before thanking our members who took time out of their day to attend our annual club meeting that was held on Jan. 7 in our pool room. At that meeting our club officers were re-elected by acclamation. I know I can speak for our Treasurer Harold Erker and our Secretary Jim Padgitt and say thank you for the vote of confidence. Validation is something that everyone seeks in whatever they are doing.

I took on the task of club president with a fairly lengthy ‘to do’ list of things I felt would be beneficial to our group. I’m not going to list them but I will say that I have whittled that list down to just a few, which I hope to accomplish in this second term. Many of the things on my list required help from our members and whenever I sought out helpit was there. That’s why I sought a second term, I’m knocking things off my list with the help of our membership. Whenever I send out a welcoming email to our new members I always tell them that the club is filled with some of the best people I know and to get involved so that they can find that out for themselves.

That said, during the course of this year, all of you will be hearing from me. Either to ask you to be on a certain committee or just for your opinion on something that I want to do that I feel would be beneficial to the club. I know I can count on you all. Thank you, again, for that vote of confidence and I’ll end this in the manner that Miss Sally Fields did back in 1985 when she earned her second Oscar: “You like me, right now, you like me!” I hope I can say that at the end of this next term.

Here are the tournament winners for the month of December: Joe Armbruster (1), Blair Dreyfus (1), Don Moser (2), Bill Frustaglia (3), Rene Lefebvre (3), and Lynn Warren (7). Player of the month was Lynn Warren. The Player of the Year award goes to Lynn Warren. Lynn’s name will be added to the plaque in our pool room reserved for the yearlong competition. Congratulations to everyone! Great shooting!
