Billiards Club President’s Message

Blair Dreyfus

“Taking Care of Business” by BTO was a favorite of mine back in the early seventies and pretty much sums up how I feel about our club and its members. Being club president is easy when you have members who are willing to help when asked and sometimes they even read my mind. We got a lot accomplished this month.

By now I hope all of our members have had a chance to shoot a little bit on our newly refurbished tables. The slate has been leveled and the old felt replaced with a Simonis cloth. KP Pool Tables did the job for us this year. Bill Green and his son Devin are extremely thorough in their work and as they say ‘the proof is in the pudding!’ If you have a table at home and are in need of anything pool table relatedgive them a call at 602-783-3991you will be glad you did! He does great work at a reasonable cost!

Our pool room also got a significant upgrade in regards to the overhead lighting for our tables. The maintenance crew here in PebbleCreek is very good at their job and the new lights look like they’ve been there all along. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped! With the addition of this new ‘perimeter lighting’ every inch of the table now receives the same amount of lumens. I’d like to thank Ed Marasco for overseeing these projects for me as they were both done mostly in the morning and I do not do mornings!

We have another batch of shirts over at Dee’s Embroidery, so be on the lookout for more and more members sporting their cool logo shirts to help promote their club. Speaking on that last month we added seven new members. We certainly would like to keep that going, so if you’re reading this and you aren’t a member—join! And if you are a member, ask a friend to join. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Mark Mecklenburg for his help in creating this great logo.

Our travel team was at it again in April and you can read all about that in Dan Harris’s articles. I am looking forward to whatever he has cooked up for us in May. Keep up the good work, Dan! That’s all for now. Keep your head down and your stroke smooth and may all your shots find their target! ’Til next month.

Player of the month for April was Lynn Warren! Congrats!
