On Dec. 18, 2025, four ladies from CantaMia (CM) traveled here for a friendly clash against four ladies from the PebbleCreek Billiards Club (PCBC). After sharing lunch and having plenty of laughs, the clubs squared off in two short-rack 8-ball singles matches, and each club won one match. Overall, CM won 15 games and PCBC won 9.

For the uninitiated: short-rack 8-ball uses just nine balls—four solids, four stripes, and the black 8—racked in a diamond like 9-ball. Games are lightning-fast, and everyone gets more turns at the table.

The first match was a race-to-8. CantaMia came out firing and never looked back, cruising to what everyone thought was an 8–1 rout. A late scorecard correction added one more CM win, making the final tally a commanding 9–1.

The second match was also a race-to-8, and PCBC flipped the script. Fueled by hometown energy, PCBC jumped to a 5–2 lead and hung on for an 8–6 victory.

Hope McAllister was PCBC’s top player (just like last month), winning four games out of six. But the top player of the day was, also just like last month, CM’s Judy Spiller. She won five games out of six. CM’s Vickie Jones deserves a special shout-out, too, as she turned heads by pocketing three balls on one of her break shots.

The afternoon perfectly captured why we all enjoy these inter-club battles: great competition at the table, nonstop laughter off it, and friendships that keep growing. Hugs and handshakes filled the room as everyone headed home. These two clubs will run it back next month, and it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top!
