On Sept. 14, three players from the PebbleCreek Billiards Club (PCBC) traveled to the Sundance Community Center in Buckeye for a morning 8-ball matchup on the hosts’ 8-foot Brunswick tables with rich red felt. PCBC left no doubt, sweeping all three “race to eight” matches and posting a decisive 24-9 overall game count.
The opening match stayed tight early, with the teams trading racks until PCBC edged ahead 4-3. The visitors then seized control, reeling off the next four games to close it out 8-3.
Match two belonged entirely to PCBC. They jumped out to a 5-2 lead and never looked back, securing another 8-3 victory.
The third match followed a similar script. PCBC raced to a 5-1 advantage and held firm for their third straight 8-3 win.
PCBC’s Lynn Warren was the clear standout, going a perfect 11-0 on the day and setting the tone with consistent, high-level play.
Beyond the scoreboard, the morning showcased sharp shot-making, genuine sportsmanship, and the easy camaraderie that defines these gatherings. Laughter mixed freely with competition, and mutual respect was evident at every table. Sundance will travel to PebbleCreek next month for the rematch, giving the hosts a chance to defend their home turf and the visitors another opportunity at redemption.
