Bible Study

Have you heard it suggested the word “Bible” is an acronym for “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth”? Even comedian George Carlin, famous for his clever observations of the human race, joked “I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a lot more as they get older, and then it dawned on me—they’re cramming for their final exam.”

While these statements might make one smile, time studying Scripture is always time well spent. PebbleCreek Community Church is happy to host the following four Bible studies that residents may want to consider attending.

1. Pastor Nate Watkins is offering a study on the Wisdom books (Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs) starting Friday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. in the Robson Reserve Game room.

2. “The Bible from 30,000 Feet,” book and video presentations by Skip Heitzig. This study offers participants an overview of the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation in fifty-two weeks. The group began last year and covered the Old Testament. They will resume with the first book of the New Testament, Matthew, starting Monday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. in Rebecca Wible’s home.
