Be my Valentine

This month, the Expressions Gallery and Gift Shop hopes to sweeten the lives of many in the community. You have only two weeks to plan your gift giving for all your loved ones, from newborns to gramps. And we’re here to help! While February 14 is surely a red-letter day, think outside the box and choose gifts in any color which appeals to you.

Start your foray deep within the Creative Arts Center with a review of items available for sale in the ceramics and the pottery windows. Items available for sale may be purchased through the Gift Shop Sales staff. Items for sale always include stunning pottery pendants and one-of-a-kind decorative display pieces.

Cross the hall and enjoy the work by the various fabric craft clubs. Knimble Kneedles uses an adorable baby doll to tug on your heartstrings; it is dressed in a charming infant sweater set and is lying cozily under a baby afghan. If you love supporting Valley charities, remember that 100% of the Knimble Kneedles proceeds are directed toward local charities.

The artists among us, and there are so many, use their showcase windows to focus on a variety of painting styles and media. Subjects include animals, scenery, people and free forms. Works are also framed or complete without frame. Just picture a piece in your home.

Check out the woodworkers’ windows. These are amazingly talented men and women. If your favorite item is not for sale, join the club and make your own winning craft.

Now, as you turn the corner toward the Gallery, continue to the wonderful showcase of the glass makers. It always sparkles with both useful and decorative items.

After you’ve toured the Creative Arts Center and selected your Valentine’s gifts, check out the Gallery array of art and craft items. It is a breathtaking experience. New in the Gallery this month are Pick Me Up Bags (I’m not saying anything further, come see for yourself), cross body world traveler bags and a return of fun dangly dolls.

And in case you haven’t been in for a while, remember, there’s often a sweet treat awaiting you at the sales counter!
