Ask the doctor

Teri Sellers

The Alzheimer’s/Dementia Caregivers Support Group will meet on September 15. We are especially happy to have Dr. Kendrick Johnson with Ark Family Health as our presenter.

This is a unique opportunity as Dr. Johnson is not coming to present a topic to us, he is coming to listen to us, to answer our questions and to interact with us to meet the special needs of our loved ones and the caregivers.

Dr. Kendrick Johnson is the founder of Ark Family Health, a Direct Primary Care practice, located in Peoria. He started Ark Family Health so that he could spend more time with his patients and discuss how diet and lifestyle can impact the everyday life and the health of his patients. Dr. Johnson has a passion for talking about how diet, nutrition and reduction of stress can lead patients to a healthier lifestyle. His medical interests include lifestyle change, preventative health, medical education and global health. Dr. Johnson grew up in Ogden, Utah and loved playing sports, music and the outdoors. He lives just a few miles away from his practice in Peoria with his beautiful wife and three children.

Dr. Kendrick Johnson invites you to an hour open discussion on stress reduction tips and the importance of sleep for overall health and wellness as well as what is considered a healthy lifestyle for you and your loved one. So please feel free to bring your questions to this discussion.

Respite Care

We may be able to provide free respite care for those with Alzheimer’s/Dementia during the caregiver meeting. This will allow the caregiver the opportunity and peace of mind to attend the discussion group. Please call me with your RSVP no later than Tuesday, September 13.

Monthly Breakfast

A more casual opportunity to meet and share with other caregivers is the first Saturday of each month. I will arrange a table at Eagle’s Nest so that we can have breakfast and just talk. Getting to know other caregivers can be very supportive and helpful as the journey of this disease can be challenging. RSVP is required by September 26 for the October 6 breakfast.

For information or to RSVP for respite care or the breakfast, please call Teri Sellers at 602-793-0299 or email [email protected].
