Artists Wander through the Hills

The Art Club hidden in the hills.

On Nov. 21, 20 PebbleCreek Art Club members made their annual car caravan journey up to Cave Creek to meander through the many private studios that generous artists open to offer everyone a sneak peek into their work world. This year was the 25th anniversary for the Sonoran Arts League, and they titled the tour Be a Part of the Arts! This is an assortment of 190 artists gathered in 45 home studios scattered throughout the neighborhoods of Cave Creek, Carefree, and north Scottsdale.

Whether you’re a newbie, experienced artist, or just someone who loves to look at beautiful art, there was something for everyone to appreciate. The wide range of art mediums shifted from oil/acrylic painting, watercolor, ceramic/pottery, glass, bronze, gourds, photography, wood, stone, and many mixed media combinations. Having this personal opportunity to talk with many artists is really encouraging for everyone—especially for us struggling artists!

It’s time, now, for the club members (and everybody) to start counting the days until the legendary white tents are erected in Scottsdale during January and into March. This daily event has as many artists set up studios to personally welcome folks to explore, learn, browse, and shop. These are the Celebration of Fine Arts and Arizona Fine Art Expo events. If you’re searching for that one-of-a-kind piece of art to complete your décor, this is a great place to explore.

The art world never rests!
