The PebbleCreek Art Club is pleased to recognize Diane Greeneich as our Artist of the Month for May 2021.
Known for her innovative work in pastel and watercolor, the inspiration for Diane’s many paintings comes from her world travels and her professional life.
A native Californian, she grew up near the beach in Los Angeles County, and The Golden State continues to be a strong influence in her life. After graduating from California State University at Long Beach, Diane met her soon-to-be husband Ed at the Long Beach Naval Officers Club. She followed her husband after his deployment on a destroyer home ported in Japan. After her return to the states, a nursing education became a priority. She spent many years in critical care nursing and nursing education at Arizona State University, while earning a doctorate from the University of San Diego. Her professional journey was not complete. She established a business providing research on patient satisfaction in health care. She was also involved in a venture of recruiting nurses in China to come to the U.S.
Ed and Diane moved to PebbleCreek in 1999. It was a lifelong goal to immerse herself in art that she never seemed to have time to do. At an early age, her artist father introduced her to the world of color and painting. Her PebbleCreek art journey has been an amazing experience. Workshops, demonstrations, and intense study have been her art education in pastel and watercolor. She is known for her vibrant colors and unique compositions.
Diane is a past president of the PebbleCreek Art Club and a juried member of the Arizona Pastel Artist Association. Her award-winning art includes two second places in the mixed media and pastel categories in the November 2020 PebbleCreek Art Club Fall Show. Her painting View from Above, based on her medical experience in China during the SARS pandemic, is an abstract to memorialize the COVID-19 spread in Goodyear.
