With maps in hand to guide them, on Saturday, Nov. 23, 22 PebbleCreek artists carpooled up to the Cave Creek and Carefree area to explore the “Hidden in the Hills” art event sponsored by Sonoran Arts League. More than 45 artists opened their home studios and warmly welcomed other art enthusiasts. The gamut of mediums ranged from oil/acrylic/watercolor painting, pastel and colored pencil designs, bronze, metal, stone, glass, and ceramic sculptures. What an artist’s paradise; the creative juices were flowing at each studio, indeed!
Now, mark your calendars! Each January into March, many of the artists journey over to Scottsdale to join the Celebration of Fine Arts and Arizona Fine Art Expo (commonly referred to as the “white tents”). This again offers everyone, whether you’re an accomplished artist or just someone who can only draw “stick figures” but enjoys admiring art, a chance to watch the artists at work up close and personal. Another road trip is in the works?
