On March 22 and 23 the PCAC held its seventh annual Spring Art Show with over 400 people attending and it proved to be a delight for all. There were 110 pieces of extraordinary art presented with every medium represented, from watercolor to pastels, colored pencil to acrylics, photography, sculpture and air brushing. Every submission was created by the talented and gifted artists who live and learn in our PebbleCreek community.
Prior to the opening and Artists Reception on Friday evening, March 22, three well known Arizona artists began the judging process. Debra Goley, Elizabeth Kenyon and Karen Budan carefully reviewed each entry and presented their list of ribbon winners. In addition to the first, second, third and honorable mention ribbons, two additional ribbons were awarded. The “Judges’ Choice” ribbon was given to Thula Edwards for her sculpture titled Camelot and the “Professional” ribbon to Kathy Sork for her colorful piece titled SongBird.
This year’s show added another element of excitement by giving attendees the opportunity to see many of the artists working in their individual mediums with demonstrations available during both show days. Participating artists were Judy Bihary, gourd art; Dee Smart, acrylics; Carolin Post, compassion stones; Thula Edwards, sculpting; Charlene Romanos, mixed media; Curtis Pachin, air brushing; Carol Burford, alcohol ink; Louis Stifter, oils and Marsha Lisle, watercolor.
Once again, the PebbleCreek Art Club presented our community with another fantastic and successful Art Show. Gale Baldasare and Kathy Craig co-chaired the event, with credit and accolades going to the numerous club members whose time and efforts made this show possible. Committee members included Curtis Patchin, Kathy Sork, Barbara Rossi, Betty Jean Kennedy, Carol Collins, Charlene Romanos, Judy Caruthers, Karla Heinz, Loretta Pruett and Nancy Stifter. Susan Gleason designed and printed the Art Shows brochure.
