Art Club Offers Classes for Artists at All Levels

Why not get your creative juices flowing with a class from the PebbleCreek Art Club? October and November classes suitable for the novice to the experienced painter are held in the Creative Arts Center at prices far below those in Phoenix art schools.

Non-members pay $20 more per class than members, but membership is only $25 for the year. If you join the club, you can enjoy all the activities, including open studios Tuesday through Saturday, monthly lunches and meetings, and trips to art venues around the metro area. Plus, you will be welcomed into a warm and supportive artist community.

Oct. 17, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mini Mixed Media Christmas Ornaments. Using supplies provided by Leslie Foley, make three ornaments with acrylic paint, watercolors, stencils and stamps. $77 non-members, $57 members.

Oct. 20 and 21, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Painting Rocks in Watercolors. Gina Locke will teach intermediate and advanced watercolor artists a variety of techniques, including the use of salt, painting transparent shadows and hard and soft edges. $121 non-members, $101 members.

Oct. 24, 25, 26, and 27, 1 to 4 p.m., Painting in Oils. Here’s a perfect opportunity for beginners to learn how to use oil paint. Not only will you learn about materials, techniques, and the importance of composition, you’ll start your own landscape painting under Diana Matney’s guidance. $100 non-members, $80 members.

Nov. 2, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Drawing Trees with Pastels from Photographs with Ellen Wagner. See www.pcartclub.org for details.

Nov. 3 and 10, 9 to 11 a.m., Realistic Charcoal Landscape Drawing. Using supplies provided by Anthony Galto, learn how to effectively use various techniques to achieve desired results. You will be supported and guided through the entire process and will walk away with enhanced skills that can help you create more beautiful drawings. $96 non-members, $76 members.

Nov. 4, 11, and 18, 9 a.m. to noon, Fun with Multimedia. Artists at all levels will have one-on-one mentoring from Anthony Galto to help them make their ideas into reality. $121 non-members, $101 members.
