On Feb. 11, a group from the PC Art Club spent a pleasant day at the Scottsdale Waterfront Fine Art & Wine Festival. The group enjoyed walking along the waterfront while taking in the artwork and sampling some of the delicious wines available. They concluded the day with lunch.
On Feb. 3, several members made the drive to Vulture City Mine near Wickenburg to participate in a tour of the site and gather inspiration for the Vulture City Mine Art Show. Entrants are to create an artistic impression of the mine and surrounding area in the medium of their choice to be entered into the show. Winning entries will be awarded cash prizes, and their art will be used as promotional displays for Vulture City Mines.
The lineup of classes for March and April is extensive and has a variety of classes for every interest and level. There are classes in watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, charcoal drawing, marbling on rice paper, palette knife painting, and encaustic painting. Membership in the Art Club is not required to join most of these classes. Visit the Art Club website at pcartclub.org for information and times.
While visiting the website, be sure to click on ‘PC Art Gallery’ at the bottom of the home page. Here you will find paintings and sculptures from many of our artists. All are for sale, and you can also get to know the artists by clicking on the work to bring up the artist’s biography.
