Bored? Try taking an art course offered by the Art Club of PebbleCreek!
Recently eight Creekers enrolled in and enjoyed an art course in watercolors, acrylics and inks during the month of April. Offered by Walter Colton a noted, recently relocated Oregon artist, Walter has had watercolor shows in the Portland area, did mixed media pieces for a game preserve in South America, a poster for the 2017 National Yorkshire Terrier convention and sold other pieces from local stores and coffee shops in the Portland area. We welcome Walter to our community and look forward to his hopefully holding other classes for our education and enjoyment.
Our course met for four Sundays in April from 9:00 a.m.-noon where we painted to our hearts’ content. A good time was had by all as we expressed our creativity, met new neighbors and learned new techniques all while celebrating our uniqueness. Walter explained and taught us techniques with watercolors, inks and other mediums all while we created our own fantastic pieces of art which including our first project, a sunflower portrait. Most amazing is how creative and different each person’s final picture turned out. Other paint projects include: a cat, an adobe building, a cactus flower and another project yet to be determined. Experience is not a prerequisite to taking a class through the PC Art Club, all are welcome. Many first-time artists-in-training have gone on to become seasoned artists who display and sell their work in the Gallery.
