People’s Choice award winner by Susan Gleason

The PebbleCreek Art Club presents two shows every year, one in spring and the other in the fall. One of the favorites of attendees is the ability to vote for their favorite entry in each show and this year’s Fall Show was no exception. With more than 80 entries in the event, representing every medium available to artists today, the coveted People’s Choice award was presented to Susan Gleason for her colored pencil painting titled Old Guys Rule.
In a recent interview with Susan, I asked what was the inspiration for her painting, and she told me, “I was interested in trying some water reflections and noticed my husband’s glasses in the pool one day. I thought they were a perfect test run. But my favorite part of this is the hat, from which the title of the painting is derived—Old Guys Rule.” Susan is looking forward to 2021 and will focus on her work in watercolor, colored pencil, and graphite drawings.
