March 11, 2017: A date to remember for several reasons, notably the mid-Fashion Show stretch doing Cupid’s Shuffle. What a celebration for Arizona Chapter Q in their tenth year! The raffle baskets and auction items were well received and enjoyed by all that viewed them in the Chianti Room. The favorite, a purse from Michael Kors, was still the prized item. The ballroom at Tuscany Falls Clubhouse was decorated with the theme Petals and Pearls elegantly displayed through the contents of mega-sized martini glasses filled with petals and flowing pearls.
The 2017 Spring Fashion lines from Dillard’s at Arrowhead were worn beautifully by our 16 community volunteers who mingled alternately throughout the room displaying them in playful mode. We’ve gathered feedback from our guests and models which described this year’s show as the best one yet. The clothing styles were definitely appropriate for the active adult lifestyle of PebbleCreek. From sports to an elegant evening about town, the clothing shown brought oohs and ahhs as each new one came to the front of the stage. The running commentary provided by Senoria Rogers gave glowing descriptions to each one with specifics about size range.
Following the intermission, aka stretch, the raffle baskets and silent auction items were dispatched in a timely manner and many guests went home with a new treasure to display, share or wear. Hoping that all had as much fun as the chapter members did while gathering and preparing them for the display. It does take a chapter of members to attend to all the necessary details to produce such a fun event.
We want also to mention the founder of our chapter, Shelley Borreson of Wisconsin C, who recognized the need for such a club within our community. Through her mentorship there are two chapters of the National TTT Society within our walls. Arizona Q was founded to provide for working community members. There is always the possibility of creating another chapter within PebbleCreek organized around working members who might like to meet on Saturdays. Our state organizer Cynthia Bush is always available to discuss possibilities for new chapters.
Arizona Chapter Q truly appreciates all the support shown by our community and friends for the fifth year in a row. This support has allowed us to send a total of 50 campers over our 10 years. With the success of this fashion show, we will be able to plan for more events with our student campers as well as beginning to plan for next year’s summer camping program for June of 2018.
