The name sounds better calling this a Turkey Shoot. Three hits in a row is a turkey but we made it harder by raising it to four hits in a row this time. We just couldn’t think of a good name for it.
As the saying goes, April Showers brings May flowers. Those showers also show how dirty your car is! Just to be fair to our trap shooters who shoot clay targets and hardly ever shoot stationary paper targets, we had our April Showers Contest for them as well as the paper-target shooters. Who, by the way, shot at really cool paper cactus targets and won some themed prizes. (See Cactus article.)
For Trap we shoot a round of 25 so for every four clays you break in a row, you get a ticket in the bucket for a drawing at the end.
The very cool prizes for this contest fit the theme (of course) and were won by:
Mitch Counce who won the, ‘use your own elbow grease’ wash kit;
Randy Sanders who won the, ‘thank you for playing the game’ bag of Costco chocolate chip cookies;
Bill Wagner and Dave Robertson, who won the Cobblestone Car Wash gift certificates so they could stay in their car and feel pampered watching the colored bubbles and automated elbow grease.
Not only do we have some of the best people in this club, we now have some of the cleanest cars! Mitch, I heard Steve say he has extra elbow grease for you!
