There’s currently a lot on the plate of the all-volunteer Board of Directors that oversees the three seasons of Bocce competition in PebbleCreek. In addition to the routine tasks associated with wrap-up of the winter and start of the spring seasons, plans are underway for the annual picnic on March 21, 2018 and a 20th Anniversary commemorative event in 2019.
Fortunately, the current Board of Directors is an experienced group, since it consists of the same slate of officers that has served over the past two years or more. President Cheryl Kasselmann, Vice President Bob Labenz, Treasurer and Team Registrar Mollie McErlean, Secretary Gail Davidson, Statistician Carol Gwilt and Publicity Director Pat Milich all were reelected at the Captains Meeting in January to serve for another two years.
The 2018 Winter Season will end on Friday, March 16. The Spring Season of competition will begin Tuesday, March 27 and will end Friday, May 18.
The Spring Season Captains Meeting will be held Wednesday, March 21 at 9:00 a.m. in the Chianti Room at Tuscany Falls Clubhouse, followed by the annual picnic at noon in Sunrise Park. Winners of the Winter Season Day and Night Championships will be announced at the picnic.
The Bocce Ball Association will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary next year. A survey was conducted to determine if there was an interest in having a dinner rather than the annual picnic.
The final survey results are as follows:
With 59 out of the 60 teams responding to the survey, 331 members were in favor of holding the dinner, 23 members were against holding the dinner and 46 members had no opinion.
