The Kare Bears are excited to announce that once again we are partnering with the Rotary Club of PebbleCreek to sponsor a community-wide food drive April 13-24 benefitting the Agua Fria Food Bank.
Each year the Rotary Club’s fundraising efforts and volunteer energy help improve the quality of local lives. When you donate to the Rotary Club Food Drive, you make a big difference. The mission of the Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank, a faith-based non-profit organization, is to provide services to families and individuals in the southwest valley who are hungry, in need, or facing crisis.
According to the Agua Fria Food Bank:
* Approximately 2 million people in Arizona face food insecurity each year.
* 1 in 3 children in Arizona will find themselves growing up in poverty.
* Each year the Agua Fria Food Bank serves roughly 50,000 residents of the southwest valley with emergency food.
PebbleCreek residents are some of the kindest and most generous people in the Valley when it comes to making a difference in our local community. The summer months are a challenge for donations at the food bank. We are asking you to check your pantries or pick up some extra boxed or canned goods each time you go to the grocery store. Canned goods and non-perishable packages of food are accepted at the food bank. Peanut butter, jelly, pasta/pasta sauce, cereal, canned meat (tuna/chicken/ham), canned fruit and vegetables, macaroni and cheese, soup, and granola bars are especially desirable.
Snowbirds, this is the time to clean your cupboards before you leave for the summer!
The primary collection point for your donation is The Kare Bear House, 15383 W Cheery Lynn Rd. Containers for your donations will be set up beginning April 13. You can drop off your donations during Kare Bears regular business hours of Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Thank you in advance for all your donations to help the Rotary Club and the Kare Bears help Agua Fria. Let’s show the West Valley how much PebbleCreek cares!
