The Goodyear Ballpark was the setting for fun and fellowship as 48 members of PebbleCreek Community Church gathered on the Terrace to see the KC Royals battle the Cincinnati Reds. We were treated to a delicious buffet of hot dogs, burgers, and grilled chicken breasts included at this special venue. Pictured is the furry blue ballpark mascot, Ace, with three of our happy attendees.
Ace made his debut at the spring training park on Feb. 23, 2019. This official mascot was presented to Goodyear’s Mayor Georgia Lord, a past PebbleCreeker, as a gift from the Cleveland Guardians’ mascot, Slider, and the Reds’ mascot, Mr. Redlegs, during pregame festivities. He was introduced nameless. Fans were able to submit name suggestions through the ballpark’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram channels during the first week of the season and voted online for their favorite. His name, Ace, was announced on March 17 of that year during Goodyear Ballpark’s 10-year celebration.
During our outing on March 20, 2025, the KC Royals racked up nine runs in the eighth inning and won the game 11 to 8. No doubt, baseball is “America’s Favorite Pastime” and all those in attendance agreed that this three-hour dining and entertainment experience was well worth the price of the ticket.
