Oct. 19, marks the next meeting of the Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group, which is dedicated to the education and support of PebbleCreek residents who have loved ones with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia.
Alzheimer’s is a very costly disease, and, unfortunately, most of the care the patient needs is not covered by Medicare or health insurance. That means it is coming out of your pocket or you are an unpaid caregiver.
You should learn how to develop strategies to make your money last. J.R. Rotchford and Anthony Carrau of Rotchford and Associates will be here for an interactive discussion to help with financial concerns, such as how to avoid running out of money, how do you cover long-term care needs, how can you address legacy and inheritance planning, how do you handle gift taxes, and what are the guidelines for how much risk to take as you get older.
J.R. Rotchford joined the family practice of Rotchford Associates, LLC, a fourth-generation family business, in 1998 after leaving the Air Force and graduating from ASU. The office is 100% independent, which allows for a client-oriented and hassle-free experience. Anthony Carrao, J.R.’s stepson has an Industrial Engineering degree from ASU and spent seven years in the field streamlining processes. He left engineering in 2018 to help continue the legacy of the family office.
The PebbleCreek Alzheimer’s Support Group is open to residents who have a loved one with Alzheimer’s of other dementia.
Respite care
We may be able to provide free respite care for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia during the caregiver meeting. This will allow the caregiver the opportunity and peace of mind to attend the discussion group. Contact Teri Sellers at 602-793-0299 or [email protected] by Tuesday, Oct. 15, to request this service.
Monthly breakfast
The first Saturday of each month offers a more casual opportunity to meet and share with other caregivers. We meet at the Eagle’s Nest for breakfast and “just talk.”. Getting to know other caregivers can be helpful and supportive as the journey of this disease can be challenging. Contact Teri Sellers at the number above by Oct. 2, to reserve your spot for the Oct. 5 breakfast or if you have any other questions.
