Veterans Day Salute—Nov. 9

Every year we take time to give thanks and recognition to all of our military personnel who have given so much to secure our freedom. This year we are pleased to welcome back HOA Board member Jack Gregory as our special guest speaker. Jack Gregory retired from the Air Force at the rank of colonel in October 2007. His last active duty assignment was as Vice Commander, Eleventh Air Force (Pacific Air Forces), Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. His other assignments include flying duties throughout the U.S. and Europe as a Pilot and Instructor Pilot in the F-4 and F-16, and staff assignments in South Korea and at the Pentagon. He commanded at the squadron and group levels, was qualified as a joint specialty officer and is a former Vice Commander of the Air Force Flight Test Center. We will also welcome some other very special guests, including, the Luke Air Force Base Color Guard, the PC Singers (A Few Good Men), Bev Griggs, Dance Fusion, Jean Gwyn, Becky Trimble and Keith Haar This special afternoon promises to create a spirit of patriotism and gratitude, a spirit that we can share with each other as we celebrate and appreciate all of the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. Once again this year, members of the PC Quilters will honor veterans with a special quilt presentation. Come and be counted as a thankful citizen of PebbleCreek, Arizona, and the great United States of America. Tickets are $5 cash only for this special program and can be purchased at the Activities Office. The proceeds will be given to a charitable organization whose focus is on our veterans. Wear your red, white, and blue, and come celebrate with us in the Renaissance Theater!

Concert: Barbra & Frank: The Concert That Never Was—Dec. 3

It is unlikely that the two powerhouse voices of the century would have ever shared the same stage … until now! Two great artists paying tribute to their characters, singing the most memorable music and songs ever written. They never worked together, exactly, except when they taped a duet in separate recording sessions, but it’s tantalizing to think what it would have been like to have Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra teamed up for a concert tour. Just imagine the possibilities. Would one have outshone the other? Would their on-stage banter have been friendly or a bit snippy? The rapport of these two 20th century icons is immediately prevalent. What’s On magazine states, “As good as the music is, the banter between the stars is equally memorable.” $35 per person (limit of 4) tickets per person. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. online and in the Activities Office on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Should a 3 p.m. show be needed, it will go on sale at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16. Credit Card only. (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express)
