A Subject All Pet Owners Will Face

Jim Ellison

The Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek is pleased to have Amanda Dorn, DVM, as guest speaker at our general membership meeting on Dec. 6, 2023. We will meet at 3 p.m. in Room 100 of the Eagle’s Nest Activities Center. All PebbleCreek residents, whether club members or not, are invited to attend. There is no charge.

End-of-life issues with our pets is a subject we know we will face, but don’t really want to. How do we know when “it’s time?” Is my pet in pain? There can be so many questions.

In response to numerous inquiries regarding this issue over the years, we have invited Dr. Amanda Dorn to speak at our December meeting. Dr. Dorn is a staff member of Luna Veterinary Care, which provides in-home pet euthanasia and hospice care. She is a Virginia native who moved to Arizona in 2007. She is also an honor’s graduate of Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her presentation will focus on quality of life, how to assess it, and in-home euthanasia. She will also answer your questions.

As usual, a box will be available for donations of such pet-related items as: dog beds, pet food (check expiration date), dog cages, crates, leashes, collars, pet medications (check expiration date), etc. Those items not used for our rescues will be delivered to other local animal rescues.

For any questions, please call Jim or Marge Ellison at 623-935-6651.
