Rayma Scalzo
Our PebbleCreek Breast Cancer Discussion Group has a supply of heart pillows made by the PebbleCreek Quilters. They will be given to any woman undergoing surgery for a lumpectomy or mastectomy. The pillows have been designed to bring comfort while recovering from surgery. They are placed underneath the arm where the surgery has taken place and are held in place by a piece of elastic. This relieves the pressure on the incision. Another use for the pillow is to place it underneath the car seat belt so there is no pressure on the breast.
If you would like to obtain a pillow, please call me at 935-1819 or send an email to [email protected]. I will be happy to bring it to your home. It is important to request it prior to surgery so you can get the maximum benefit from it immediately following surgery. Please be sure to pass this information along to friends who could use it.
Our discussion group does not meet again until September, but we are still here for you to provide the gift and valuable information during your journey with breast cancer treatment.
